The generator reads eligible tracks from your RadioDJ database and creates an M3U playlist containing their stored file paths. No song records are changed.

The generated playlist will use the file paths stored in RadioDJ. Those paths must also be accessible on the computer or system where the playlist is opened.

Track selection

The generator selects tracks from the RadioDJ song library that match the chosen filters.

Leaving the genre and year fields empty allows tracks from the full eligible library to be used.

Longer playlists require enough available music to fill the requested duration.

M3U playlists

An M3U file is a text-based playlist containing the path to each selected audio file.

It can be opened by many media players and audio automation applications.

The M3U file does not contain or copy the audio itself.

File path compatibility

RadioDJ may store Windows paths such as C:\Music\Track.mp3.

The generated playlist should normally be opened on the same computer or another system with the same drive and folder structure.

Network paths must be accessible to the account opening the playlist.

Generation tips

Use broader filters when generating longer playlists to ensure enough tracks are available.

Check that year metadata is complete before relying on minimum and maximum year filters.

Review the generated playlist before using it for a live or unattended programme.
