Search artist, title or album Type at least 2 characters

This tool reads track, category, history and rotation-related data. It does not change the selected track or any RadioDJ rotation settings.

A track may still be skipped because of live queue contents, event actions, manual inserts or settings that are not stored directly against the song record.

Playback history

RadioDJ can exclude a track when it has been played too recently for the configured track separation value.

The artist may also be excluded when another track by the same artist appears in recent playback history.

Inconsistent artist naming can affect separation results and make similar artists appear unrelated.

Category rules

A song can only be selected when its category or subcategory is included in the active rotation.

Disabled categories, empty categories or incorrect category links can prevent expected tracks from being selected.

A track may be valid but still have a low chance of selection when the category contains many other eligible songs.

Date restrictions

Tracks with a future start date are not yet eligible for playback.

Tracks with an expired end date may no longer be selected.

Seasonal music, promotions and temporary items often use date restrictions that are easy to overlook.

Sweepers and overlays

Sweepers and overlays may use separate category or track-type rules from normal music tracks.

Their eligibility can depend on the rotation item, event action or currently selected song.

A valid sweeper may still not play when no compatible music track is available.

Debugging tips

Confirm that the selected track is enabled and belongs to a category used by the active rotation.

Check both song and artist playback history when investigating separation problems.

Review date limits, track type and category links before changing global rotation settings.

Keep a database backup before editing large groups of song or category records.
